This was a report written in 2020, where I had to study and research different viewpoints on the effects video games had in society with specific reference to the influence of “violent” video games, and how they might be a root cause of violence in society. The concluding idea of this report was the fact that video games most likely do not have a direct causation with violence in real life, and how they have been used as a scapegoat.
While the majority of this research was done as secondary research, I was also able to conduct some primary research by asking an online questionnaire to people who played video games, which resulted in over 1,100 responses.
